To celebrate Christmas, there are some fun and creative activities you can do within a Forest School environment.

This is a very simple activity you can do this festive season. The main objective of this Forest School activity is to support children’s mathematics skills by measuring. This also supports their imagination and creative skills in developing their own look Christmas tree.

What do you need?

  1. Sticks
  2. Leaves
  3. Pinecones
  4. Conkers

What do you need to do?

  1. Begin by finding several sticks, all different lengths. Using a long stick for the middle, the aim is to start from the bottom of the “tree” use the longest remaining stick and as you go up the stick in the middle, using smaller and smaller sticks to make a Stick Christmas Tree.
  2. You can add natural materials like leaves, pinecones, conkers to complete your Christmas Tree.
  3. Optional: You can glue your creation onto paper or glue onto main body stick and dig into the ground, so the tree is standing up.
