At Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Lightwater, children aged 2 to 3 years are welcomed into our dynamic Toddlers room, a space thoughtfully designed to match their curiosity and energy. The room is equipped with carefully selected furnishings and a wide range of learning resources, all easily accessible to support independence and hands-on exploration.
Nurturing Independence at Our Lightwater Nursery
At Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Lightwater, we recognise that as your child grows, so does their desire to explore and assert their independence. That’s why we maintain a low child-to-educator ratio—no more than four toddlers per team member, ensuring each child receives the individual attention, guidance, and encouragement they need to flourish.
Our nursery environment is thoughtfully designed to support children’s development in every way. Interconnecting toilets with privacy cubicles promote independence and support toilet training, while small rooms allow for intimate activities where staff can provide full daily support to every child. Outdoor education spaces and a growing area of fresh fruit and vegetables encourage hands-on learning about nature and growth.
In our Toddler Room, children continue to develop across the three prime areas of learning and are gently introduced to the four specific areas that deepen their understanding of the world around them:
-
Literacy
-
Mathematics
-
Understanding the World
-
Expressive Arts and Design
Weekly cooking and baking sessions promote an understanding of world cuisines, while aspects of the Curiosity Approach, using small parts, natural resources, and real-life items, encourage imagination, creativity, and independent exploration.
Children at Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Lightwater are immersed in a rich and stimulating learning environment, where books, sounds, letters, and numbers are thoughtfully integrated into everyday play. This nurturing approach sparks curiosity, builds confidence, and lays the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.
We offer countless opportunities for creative expression. Whether it’s painting, building, storytelling, or imaginative play, children are encouraged to think independently, explore freely, and express themselves with confidence, all while drawing inspiration from the world around them.
